Reflections on the Pond
11" x 14" · Alla Prima Oil on Panel · 2016
Reflections on the Pond, painted plein air and alla prima in a beautiful secret location in Frederick, Maryland, rests in the quiet light of autumn. The scene reduces itself to color, movement, and mirroring — trees and water slipping into one another through vertical marks and softened bands of hue, holding a quiet tension between form and dissolution.
An original alla prima, plein air oil painting by Juliane Porter, born of close observation and a stillness of perception—where light, mood, and the boundary between painter and world quietly dissolve.
“Friends, we are in love with this new portrait of our girls. Juliane Porter is incredibly talented and took our breath away with a piece of art that we will cherish forever. If you are considering having a portrait or painting done, considering Juliane is a must!”

“Wow! I feel like I am standing right behind them. How breathtaking — the purity and innocence of this piece is admirable and calming. South Carolina beaches can do that to a person, but you, my dear, have brought the therapeutic feelings of the beaches and their beauty home for this pair of beach babes and to us. Merci and très magnifique!”
